Did mine last week. It was very laid back. First part involved greetings and an overview of the program, as well as details on what is problem based learning (PBL). Then you are rotated through individual interviews, group interviews, and Q&A with students. It can be in any order depending on a list they have.

Individual interviews - paired with one or two other students and a faculty does the interview. About 25-30 mins.

Group interview - about 5-7 students and the group is given a scenario in which you must come together and decide what to do. This is to assess how well you work in groups, which is the essence of PBL

Also know your PTCAS essay, they may refer to or ask you about something you wrote

Hey ,

Thank you so much for the information. Do you mind sharing some of the questions they asked you ? It will be the great help. And how many people came to the interview ?

Only remember 2. How did you come to decide on PT....and what's the biggest problem you think you would have with PBL style (or something close to that)

About 15, but there was another interview session after as well on that day

oh ok, thanks for the information. I hope we get in . 🙂 I am super nervous.. Have you been interviewed anywhere else?

You're welcome!

No, it was my first interview and was much more relaxed than what I've heard about other program interviews. No tricky questions.

Oh, I do have two acceptances already though

Thats great!! congratulation on the acceptance.

My stats:
Under Grad Overall : 3.4
Pre req : 3.3
Graduate school GPA : 3.8
1000+ hours..

Do you think i have a chance for this school? Its my #1 choice. Really excited about the interview after hearing from you. Thank you. What type of group scenario they gave u.

Thanks!

I don't know about your chance in particular, but Kathy did say that as long as you got the interview then you're qualified to be there. The Interview is a way to see how you would fit into their and for you to evaluate whether or not it's a right fit for yourself. PBL is not for everyone.

Can't give away the scenario, but it's a real life example, nothing to do with PT. Just showing group work skills- your individual contribution and ability to work with others to develop a plan of action or solution...no right or wrong answer

I interviewed with them about a month ago. The scenario was like you are on a trip with the pt program and you have items that are stolen from your hotel room (passport, computer, etc), and how would you go about getting those items back, etc. it is really laid back and fun. You can't ask the "facilitator", who is another faculty member evaluating you, any questions. She just observes how you interact with others in your group. My best advice is to really understand what PBL is and what it entails.. good luck!

What time you recieved it ? I haven't Recieved acceptance or rejection email yet

I haven't received anything either. Maybe rejections come by snail mail 😕

@THBJJ when did you interview? maybe they heard back because they interviewed before us! dont lose hope @CH2014 !

I also interviewed in mid december, so that's possible

I will be declining my spot so there will be one opening up for those of you who are waiting!

I was also accepted, but I will be declining my spot. PBL isn't quite for me. Hopefully this opens up a spot for someone else!

Saw someone post in the acceptance sticky thread that interviewed on the 1/9 (same interview day) and they were accepted but declined. Looks like it's waitlist since no denial yet. Won't lose any sleep though, tuition is crazy and wasn't sure about the PBL curriculum
