I thought Ersland shouldn't have gotten life in prison. Maybe a couple of years. He didn't ask to be put in that situation.

I agree. Ersland messed up in the heat of the moment, but I wouldn't call it premeditated. Real premeditated murderers have got less than life imprisonment, that seems like a very harsh penalty for someone who was just trying to protect human life.

For those interested on the gun he used... the judge shoots either a 410 shotgun shell or .45 colt. So depending on what round he was using this guy is probably lucky to be alive, being shot in the chest.

Oh, and of course you don't rob an indy in WY, you know they are packing.
