i have my SLU interivew in two weeks. Unfortunately, I have minimal information about where to stay and where to go as SLU has yet to send me any interview info. Anyone know which airport I should fly into? Is there a student host program? if not, any hotels with free shuttle service? If i want to take the metro, how should I go about doing it? Where am i showing up for my interview? what time?

The big airport here is Lambert... that's the one you'll fly into. There is a a student hosting program, call the admissions office and they'll let you in on it. If not, there's a decent, fairly inexpensive hotel just a short walk from the med school called the Water Tower Inn (you get a break if you tell them you're an interview, the hotell is actually owned by SLU)...

You can take the Metro to the Midtown stop to get to SLU... although, honestly, I never take the bus here so I don't know how you'd get to the hotel from there (other than walk, it's about 3/4 of a mile).

Hope this helps...

I flew into Lambert Aiport which I think is the main one in St. Louis. From there, you can take the Metrolink down to the school. If you stay with a student host you'll have to arrange something but I stayed at the Water Tower Inn which is a university owned hotel. It is pretty close to the medical school, less then a mile.

If you stay at the Water Tower Inn, you take the Metrolink to the Grand Ave station. Once you get off there, on the station there is a call box which connects you directly to the hotel/school and they will send someone to pick you up.

The day of the interview there is a shuttle that goes frmo the hotel to the medical school which you will probably want to take because it was pretty cold when I went there, (too cold to walk at least). After your interview, the shuttle can also take you to the Metrolink station to get back to the Airporty.

The shuttles are free. The metrolink costs some money, I think a dollar or two. I'd prolly bring quarters for the machines since the dollars I had kept on getting rejected.

Just to add to what other people have been saying....there is a student hosting program. When you call to schedule your interview they send the info for the program with your small packet. It's $25/night (for a max of two nights) staying with a 2nd year. There's a little form you send in with your check that they like to get at least two weeks before the interview but I don't think it's a big deal if they get it within that timeframe. Hope that helps! PM me if you need any info about the school, interview, etc...
