salary differences?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
In terms of financial compensation, right now, there's very little difference. However, watchdog groups (Leapfrog, etc.) are pushing insurance companies to offer increased reimbursement to physicians of all specialties with board certification. Many of the major academic centers are now stipulating that you have to obtain board certification within x years of being hired out of training, and are offering significant bumps in salary once you do.

Any websites showing cost of living differences by city (side by side comparisons) or has a COL calculator?

In an academic program you have to be BC to be hired as Assistant Professor other wise as an Clinical Instructor unless you have publications. Also there was a salary difference of 20,000-30,000 on a few advertisements (on salaried -state job).
Please corelate clinically !!! (as our radiologist reports every imaging study)
