Hi! Yes, I actually completed the GPR at the University of Utah. Great program with experience in implant placement, implant training with WhiteCap Institute, molar endodontics, all aspects of restorative, IV sedation training with experience in IV placement, and OR dentistry with special needs. It's a very comprehensive program, but your experience will also be dependent on your patient experience (finances). Compared to my experience in dental school, I was able to practice more advanced dental procedures. But if you're looking for an implant heavy program, you are better off at SLC VA. Last, but not least, the residency director is the best. He always took the time to help you out, whether dental related or not.

I really enjoyed my time at the UoU GPR and felt it was worth the resident salary.
Are there programs better than the U? Of course.
Are there programs worse than the U? Most definitely.

So, I would say the U ranks better than average against other GPRs, but I've only been to this one. Hope this helped!

I have a friend who did it. He enjoyed it. Got good experience. Not top notch, but good.

How many endo cases did you personally get to do during your GPR? How many would you say residents get to do on average? Anyone get to do apicos?

I'm looking for a GPR/AEGD program with a lot of endo experience—any more info you have would be wonderful. Thanks!
