when the salt of a weak acid is hydrolyzed in water i thought the ph of the resulting solution would be very basic b/c the conjugate base of the weak acid is strongly basic.
but it seems like the ph of the resulting solution should be slightly basic
can anyone explain me why?
thank you

Conjugate base of STRONG acid is always WEAK.
However, conjugate base of WEAK acid is not always STRONG.
