I was reading the hit piece posted about Nevro, and it mentions Saluda - which is a closed loop device? What is that?

any experience with this?

The premise of closed loop scs is that the device can receive electrical input from the cord to modulate the device's output. Like a pacemaker.

Saluda's work is exciting as it's actually capturing a dorsal column response to the stimulation, and can modify the stimulation to optimize that response. That feedback is the closed loop portion of things. It does really only capture neuronal response though and it's also going to be effected by cord movement/etc. It looks nice though from the data I saw a few years ago.

I'm not sure what the relation to Nevro is.

my partner was involved in some of the studies and did some trials with patients. they did great from what he said.

the ECAPS issue is cool because it's real time monitoring of the stimulation and can adjust on the fly to keep the "dose" accurate and within the therapeutic range. say your patient coughs with traditional tonic and gets shocked, this technology prevents that from happening.
