Hello everyone, I'm new to the site. I was just wondering if there's anyone out there who lives in San Jose Cali would like to form a study group? I took the MCATs before but just didn't get the ideal score. Prep courses are too expensive and I really think small gatherings can help one another big time. And I AM SERIOUS about studying! Anyone interested? Thanks!

hey whats up?! Im responding to your request, as i do live in san jose. I am taking a prep course right now, and you're more than welcome to join our study group. PM me for more info. 🙂 good luck!

Hey! I'm interested. I'm starting my Princeton class in January but I plan to start studying during Christmas break. All I've been doing now it listening to the Examkrakers Audio Osmosis CD's.

Can I join. I am starting Kaplan in Jan. in downtown SJ. Anyone taking kaplan then? How about setting something up over at SJ state U..

I'm in San Jose also and am taking April '05 MCAT. Count me in on any study group action!! 🙂

me too, i live in san mateo, but will be taking PR in Palo Alto.

I like the King Library idea. It's a great library. They also have som larger study rooms that we can look into.

Hi Kussemek and all of you guys/gals for that matter,

This idea of meeting together is great, but will work well for some and not work well for others in respects to location. If anyone wants to get a study group going with me in the peninsula area (palo alto/san mateo), please let me know. I am doing Kaplan in Palo Alto (California St.) and they have study rooms, also, theres Stanford Univ., Libraries, and many Starbucks to satisfy our addiction to caffine.

My email is [email protected] and AIM is: expressions81

hi virluminous,

sounds good, evenings and weekends work well for me. lets try experimenting to see how things work out. i'm game for kings library, just establish a time and some sort of plan (review? quizzing each other, going over weaknesses, group interactive teaching, etc.) just so we have something concrete to work with.

best,
Nick

(i work morning till 3ish then i am free for most of the day/night on the weekdays)

Thanks for your response Nick. So it seems around 5 people are interested in meeting at the kings library. i can reserve a room for us once i know what date and time works best for all of us. Would 12/4 afternoon/evening work for you guys? What about Wednesday 12/8 6:30 or 8-ish evening?
I think at our first meeting we should get to know each other, especially our strengths and weaknesses and come up with a timeline of topics/subjects to focus on. Any other suggestions are most welcome!
i know not everyone check this site often. so im gonna send an email to you with the same msg.
Let me know what works best for ya~

Hi, I was also interested in forming a study group with people who are taking the April 2005 MCAT. I live in the area as well and wouldnt mind meeting up at the King library (I study there a lot). If you could let me know what time and where, I would love to meet up with you guys 🙂

virluminous,

are we still on for 12/4 at kings library? What time are we meeting up?

Thanks.

Ok listen up study buddies,
12/8 8pm at the king library is what we are proposing. Let me know if you're in and I'll reserve a room (depends on the # of ppl)
thanks!

How did the study group go? I'm moving to Mountain View next weekend.

Hi Jenn,

Overall, things went extremely well. Virginia and I met up and discussed a little about ourselves to scuff out the formalities between each other. We then got into strengths and weaknesses and discussed what we wanted to get out of our studies and how to acheive it.

I'm pleased that we've found such a great study room in what I think is one of the most beautiful libraries I've seen. We had time to go over a few vague concepts in physics and decided that next meeting (wednesday, 12/15 at 8pm) that we'll go over some physics topics such as dc ac circuits, periodic waves and motion, light and optics, and so on.

Anyways, I encourage others to come. So far we are really aiming on being productive and nailing this stuff down.

Again, next meeting time is Wednesday 8pm, 12/15 at King Library (located near SJSU).
