Hi, I'm currently looking for a job as a pharmacy clerk and was wondering if anyone here knows the average pay for a clerk working at Sav-On. Is it a minimum wage job?

Also wondering if you had to choose between Sav-On, Target or Rite-Aid, which company would be a better learning and overall environment from your experiences? Thanks so much!

Yep being a pharmacy clerk is a minimum wage job. I worked in Southern California as a Sav-on pharmacy clerk. I started at $7.55 and was up to $7.90 after 1 year.

As for whether Sav-On, Target, or Rite-Aid would be best, I've only worked for Sav-on so I don't know, but I think any store would be great as long as the people there are willing to teach you and let you do stuff besides handle the cash register. If you can, get a tech license so you'll be able to fill prescriptions and earn a higher salary.

I worked at Rite Aid for a year. You basically learn as much as you want to. My pharmacy manager was the coolest tho. She was really lenient and let me try out new things all the time.

Rite Aid pay sucks really bad tho. From what i hear Target offers the best pay out of the chains.

Anyone know the current pay for CVS and Walgreens Pharmacists in TX?

I worked at CVS about a year two years ago and i started with $10/hr. Mind you, it was in Berkeley, Ca so cost of living is hella expensive. Unfortunately, i quit b/c the pharmacy was too freaking busy and the ppl there drove me crazy. I guess that's why they paid me so much for just being a clerk.

OK...I think the pay in Dallas is more than here in Houston. What I heard was CVS starting is 47/hr in Houston. Sound right?

Not sure...$1 difference means $2080 per year...after taxes...won't make a whole lotta difference. Why are you looking at CVS with your 2 residencies?

Was just thinking...I like what I do now, but something close to the house would be nice!

Does anyone know how much Walgreens pay their interns? Especially P1? I received a call from Walgreens saying they have part time intern positions available. Are they good to work for? Are they easy with the schedule?
