SBU’s DDS summer program provides excellent insight on what dental school is like and whether or not dentistry is the right career choice for you. It gives you an inkling of what four years of SBU is like in ~4.5 days.
I would encourage pre-dents to try to take advantage of that program (or any program for that matter, like Rutgers) to make sure you’re taking the right step.

I’m one of the managers who helps run DDS at Stony Brook. You get to hang with the dental students all day and do various activities dental students in various years would do. In addition you also get to know the faculty and students during this time. If stony brook is a school you are interested in I would definitely try it out.
