They've got a bad-a@s curriculum here. I love it. We had in our pharm practice course we had director of the two campus pharmacies come and talk to us about community pharmacy. he's this crazy business dude Dr. Mike Rudolph who owns 8 pharmacies and he showed before and afters of his pharmacies. they were impressive. 4000 sq ft little medical complexes. he had this private area for consults. Signs for diabetes treatment, asthma, otc. It was really cool to see. This business model was awesome. Basically, what i keep talking about enhancint the bottom line by increasing care. He was all about the dough, but i didn't even mind bc it was at the advancement of care.

Then there was the other speaker talking about clinical pharm that wasn't so charismatic, but interesting.

And then this dynamo clinical pharmacist Dr. Steve Chen talking about clinical care in ambulatory medicine. It was an amazing presentation of the level of involvement they're asking of pharmacists these days. His mission is increasing appropriate dosing for pts.

It's a wide open field for pharmacists. It was da^n inspriring.

I totally agree with Tri.... the first and last speakers really were inspirational, especially Dr. Chen. The way he was talking about changing prescriptions and keeping people in check with their meds has me kind of considering that track. Although, the second speaker didn't have as much presence as the other two pharmacists, it was cool to see how much she had accomplished, while being so young!

What the? What kind of crazy, California circus are you guys running over there? Taking pictures with a pharmacist? What is the point? Am I missing something here?😛

Yeah they had like twenty japanese pharmacy students visiting during our first week of classes, so they just had them sit in our class. Only like one or two spoke much english, so they all fell asleep during our pharm practice class and then got yelled at for it by one of the guest speakers:laugh: It was cool though. This one older japanese pharm student went to undergrad in minnesota, so I was rapping with her in my sorry excuse for japanese. She got all excited when I told her i was a 4th generation japanese-american. it was good, clean fun.

The pic session with the speakers then ensued afterwards.
