umm...if you had a bad interview at a school you really really wanted to go to and you are pretty certain you did not get in because of the interview, would it be ok to ask for another one? i know for some professional programs (not osteopathic) depending on the situation it is acceptable and even encouraged. people have bad days/ bad moments...

I hope they weren't republicans???😱

without saying too much- just bad nerves. nothing bad was said or done, but it may have appeared to the interviewers that you were not committed/interested.

Well what would have given them that impression?

Obamagirl,

Can't hurt to contact the dean of admissions. If you're certain you're gonna get rejected anyways, you can't put yourself in a worse situation, right? You're correct in that some programs actually encourage applicants to ask for another interview if you did not feel you did well. It happens...some interviewees just have a hard time clicking with the interviewer(s). After a while, you're thrown off course and start sweating and giving stupid answers.

HOWEVER, keep in mind that some schools offer tough interviews on purspose to see how you handle yourself. If this is the case with this particular school, don't know what to tell you. Look at the interview feedbacks on SDN to gauge the style of interview. If everyone else indicates 'low stress,' 'friendly' and 'laid back,' you may have some chance.

Was this your first interview by chance? Not uncommon to fold on first one. Let them know that if so.

Good luck!

I agree. I had 2 interviews in 2 days. Right after the first interview, I totally felt like I had bombed it (much like what you thought, obamagirl-I didnt say anything wrong or stupid, but I felt like one of the interviewers was bustin my chops). The second interview felt like it went much better and I left thinking I had a great chance.

Ends up I got accepted at the first school and waitlisted at the second. Go figure.

My $.02:
Wait to see if you are accepted or not, then go from there.

I was already rejected from the school. Yes- this was my first interview and I think they know that. Valsalva- based on my background I should have had a lot to say and I get the feeling they expected a lot more from me which I did not deliver. I was too nervous among other things. The interviewers were very nice. I really can't blame anyone but myself.
