Guys, I have not received any IVs or rejections? I have underscore(_) in my ERAS email address between my first and last name. I am afraid that programs might not be putting underscore(_) and/or instead putting(-) in email address, so I am not receiving any IVS nor any rejections. Anyone with underscore in email address and still getting IVs or rejections? Shall I change my email address now? Is it wise to change now? 🙁 😕

Don't change your email. Most programs use the mail feature within ERAS to contact applicants. Even when they don't, they copy and paste the email address from ERAS. You haven't received any notifications because we're barely a week into the process, not because there's an underscore in your address.

Thanks mcl. That relieved my anxiety. I heard few programs had difficulty contacting applicants via ERAS message center, so they instead contacted directly via email. But you already answered that they copy paste from ERAS. I hope all programs copy paste email address. Thanks once again. 🙂

I agree with mcl. However, if you are especially paranoid about it, you could create an email with the dash in it to assuage those fears.
Thanks for the input. I did try that too yesterday. lol, but the problem was I was only allowed to use alphabets, letters, underscore(_) and dot(.) for email address, but using dash(-) was denied. I will take your (and mcl) advice, and will not change email in ERAS(even if we are allowed to update profile and that includes email address too) . 🙂

OP, you can also check the message center on eras.

Thanks @ all of above. I changed my email address because ERAS said the new email address are sent to each program the moment I update it on ERAS and it won't have any negative impact on the application. I changed because don't wanna take any risk 🙂. Thank you guys for the input.
