Just wondering if anyone that has interviewed at SCCO has had their HS transcript be a part of the discussion during the interview? Like if the interviewers refer to it at all, and how big of an impact it has to help consider you as a candidate or hinder your chance?

I have an interview scheduled there, but haven't had it yet. I think I remember them saying that the HS transcript is really just to get a further back picture of your performance. I imagine that the one way it would help someone is if they have only a mediocre/average GPA, but their HS transcript shows it is a definite improvement over how they did in HS. Not sure - but that's just a guess! I think it's really just meant to round out the picture.

SCCO has a full length mock interview posted here:

And you can get information about previous interview experiences at SCCO here:

Good luck!!

I had an interview there on October 1 (I think - it was awhile go so I am not positive of the date). My HS transcripts were never mentioned once. I think they just like to see them for reference - how you have evolved as a student from HS to now. So don't stress or worry about them too much 🙂 the interview was much more laid back than I was anticipating. My interviewer was very nice and made me feel very comfortable.

Thanks for the responses, but I'm actually more worried how it would be detrimental in my case, since I was a stellar student in high school but my performance was short of that in undergrad =/

This was actually kind of a concern of mine too in a way - I didn't blow my undergrad GPA, but it was a bit of a far cry from my HS GPA. I think that they care more about though how well-rounded you are, rather than if you could get a 4.0. Obviously grades are important, but (from what I have been told) they would prefer a student with a modestly decent GPA who did a lot of extracurriculars (volunteering, working, shadowing, research, leadership, ect). So even though my college GPA was a good deal lower than my high school GPA, that was never something they asked about. Instead, they wanted to know how I had budgeted my time in college.
So, rather than worrying about how to explain the discrepancy between your grades from then to now, I would focus on how you can show them you managed your time well, doing other useful activities outside of studying.
Have you been offered an interview at SCCO already? Or are you sending in your transcripts right now?

I just sent them my transcript last week so all the materials will be in by the time I actually submit my OptomCAS, so it's just something for me to keep in mind IF I even get an interview invite.
