Hey guys, just curious as to see what your schedule is for PGY-2 year in the ED. I don't have my schedule yet but supposedly we're supposed to be doing less hours (we do 20 12s now)...

Hopefully we'll be doing 18-19 12s... just seeing how the other programs do it in regards to shift #s and shift length.

Q, DO

We're going to all 8 hour shifts (was going to be 8's, with 12's on the weekends, but, somehow, the 12's are out). I don't know how many per month. (Mark - Traci is doing the scheduling - we'll see how that pans out!)

East Carolina's newest guidelines: PGY 1's do 18 12's, PGY 2's do 16-17 12's, and PGY 3's do 15-16 12's.

We just switched this year from 12s to 10s.

It used to be pgy1-19-20; pgy2-18, pgy3-17 (chief 16)

Now it's something like 1-21, 2-20, 3-19 with some 12s mixed in.

wow that still kinda sucks, we do 21-10's, 17-19 10's , 14-16 10's...and I think we schedule pretty nicely for all residents (many times on the lower end). By pgy3, there is alot of moonlighting going on...similar to the Louisville system(where moonlighting is virtually part of the learning process).
