I've elected to do an informal postbacc at Tech, what do yall think of the classes I've picked, and are there any that you think I should add?

Summer I - Stats, retake (F)

Summer II - Gen Chem II and Lab

Fall

Bio 1
Ochem 1
Phys I (algebra based)
Adv Econ, retake (D)

Any other suggestions? I could probably use some more hours to boost my gpa.

Wreck 'em.

Watch out for Dr. Dini's class; it is definitely doable(I studied only about 2 days before each of his tests) and made high B's both semesters.

Make sure to go above and beyond in lab.

Who are your Gen/O chem professors?

Also, what is your major? Do you want Biology and Chem classes only; easy classes; etc?

Guns Up!

I had Dini once and I dropped his class lol. So I have to go through that again. I'm doing a second bachelor's in Biology because all I need are science classes. I have Dr. Krempner for Ochem and Bradley for Chem 2. I was thinking about taking Genetics with Dr. Zhang, but I thought that might overload me, and that I can barely understand hid thick Chinese accent lol.

Sit way up close, you can understand Dr. Zhang then. His class is the easiest for General genetics. See if you can take Human genetics; unless you like everything being related back to plants and cotton. 😴

In Dini's class, go to all lectures and abuse the SOAR center. Tab out your notes, and understand all of his essay questions from previous tests(Reading and writing his old essays helps study the material too). Dini's 1st test is the hardest, followed by the second test. He wants people who don't take his class seriously to drop, fyi.

That is going to be a ton of classes... I'd stick to 12 hours(w/ labs) unless you were 110% committed.

Why are you taking algebra based physics? Unless you're interested in engineering or pursuing an advanced degree in physics, I would stay away from that course. Otherwise, it looks like you have a great plan.

I know your focus will be 99% academics, but you might want to take 1% of your time and do some volunteering/shadowing. If you're going DO route, start looking up a DO to shadow and get that set up before your fall semester starts. Otherwise, you will be so engrossed in your school work that Winter break will hit and you will be scrambling to find a DO to shadow.

Good luck!

Phys I and II w/ labs is required for matriculation in many schools. Algebra = trig based too.

I think you mean stay away from calc based physics? 😕

Yes yes yes calc based. Was late when I was posted.
