does it look bad if they give you an early interview date, say september, and you re-schedule it for november? it's just so hard to schedule so many interviews in one month cause of work and plus airfare and hotels bills. anyone else having this problem?

Remember that interview season lasts until March or April (depending on the school). With the cost of travel these days, it is smart to take financial things into consideration. I didn't interview at the school I chose to attend until February. Keep in mind, however, that if your stats are lower than average, that it might be a good idea to get those interviews in ASAP.

I really couldn't have afforded the time, money, or effort to go to more than one interview in a month. I know that it seems hard right now, but try to avoid the stress now if you can. You'll have plenty of it later.

I have a good appication overall but a low/borderline (23) MCAT should you give the non refundable deposit just to secure a spot if I get in ...i got my first interview for Oct 2nd at LECOM-Erie. I mean some of these are like above $1000...it will be hard to weigh my options....lets see at that time

but id like to hear from others...whether U held a spot and waited and had to give up ur money to ultimately go elsewhere for school...

Sometimes the schools will let you know in the interview offer if an opportunity to reschedule exists or will give you an option to pick dates. Other schools will specifically encourage you to attend the date & time they specify (read: try not to re-schedule these).

no offense, but how does a 23 mcat land u an interview in sept?? did u have a 4.0 or something?

i say anything is possible. never doubt a low mcat if you've got other qualifications to show your competence. someone out there may have a comparable mcat and seven interviews...

I've did that with one school so far because of cost... I wouldn't worry.

A 24 on the MCAT is the AVERAGE score of a MATRICULANT at MOST osteopathic medical schools. There are a few schools that are in the 27-29 range, but they are the exception rather than the rule. In rare instances people are excepted to U.S. allopathic programs with a 23, so anything is possible.
