Scheduling my 3rd year rotation (radiology), need advice

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
It really shouldn't make any difference when you take radiology as a 3rd year. Perhaps nearer the end is better as you will be fresh on the minds of your home institution rads when it comes time to interview in the middle of 4th year. If you are taking a rads elective 4th year it helps to take it as early as possible, so you can actually know a little about rads before you interview, and it will give you time to do away electives before interviews if you wish. (BTW Rads away electives are +/-, they help give you a better idea of a program, but it won't necessarily give you an edge to get into that program.)

Remember, during your elective they don't expect you to know a whole lot about rads, and because of this you can't really help out with workload. Just sit back, learn as much as you can and ask intelligent questions when appropriate.

Best of luck.
