Hey guys, i was wondering if anyone can give me some advice on how to schedule my rotations for 3rd year. I am certain at this point i want to go into psychiatry. I've read some threads for other specialties as to how to schedule their rotations tailored for that respective field, but haven't seen any for psych. From what i read, I gather that i should do my psych rotation at the end of my 3rd yr. A lot of folks have said to do IM before surgery since the surgery shelf exams have lots of IM stuff on it, but does it matter if i do IM first and Surgery last or is it better to do them back to back? For rotations, the class is broken into 13 groups and we get to choose what group we want to be in. There are 13 blocks, each lasting about 1 month, which include 3 months of IM, 2 months of surgery, 1 mo of FP, 1 mo of OB, 1 mo of psych, 1 of Peds, 2 electives, and 1 core selective and 1 mo of vacation. I'm just not quite sure which is the best order i should do the rotations in, but below i pasted what the order of the rotations are. As far as psych, which rotations do people generally get recs from or are required of prospective psych applicants? If anyone can help me out i'd really appreciate it! Thanks.
