Two questions are asking similar things. The questions are1) Why do you feel you deserve a scholarship? 2) How will a scholarship benefit you?

Any recommendations on how to attack these questions differently. I think mentioning that I am a first gen college student would be a good thing to mention in one essay, but I'm not sure which question it's more appropriate for.

well 1) sounds like a merit question and 2) sounds like a need question. 1) deals with your achievements and how you stand out from the crowd, and 2) can be that you're a first gen college student and how the money would help you.
