I was wondering if many schools offer scholarship to incoming students. If so how do I go about applying for one? Dose anyone know of any scholarship at the schools I am applying to?
Thanks for the help in advance.

I think UPenn gives out a pretty big scholarship to like their top 25% of the class or something like that, but you have to keep in mind that their starting budget is also much higher than many other schools.

I know you didn't apply there, but Case also gives out a few nice (and renewable each year) scholarships starting with 3.8+/20+ applicants.
you don't have to apply for any admissions scholarships, if a school has a scholarship program you are automatically considered based on your AADSAS application.

Cows-

I can't speak from personal experience, but from what I've heard you will definitely get the UPenn Dean's Scholarship, which is worth 1/2 tuition renewable all four years (I believe that the standards are like 3.7+ GPA and 20+ DAT). But, like Biogirl has mentioned, that pretty much only puts it on par with many of the other less expensive schools.. Still, a nice scholarship I would say.

Are you able to elaborate on Case scholarship numbers by any chance?? 🙂 If you are able, I would appreciate it a lot b/c I've always wondered about Case.. Thanks!

There was a thread a few months back that listed schools that gave scholarships and stuff...if you search you'll probably be able to find it after digging through. But, for the most part, I think information about scholarships is sparse. I say this because I've searched for scholarship information for a long time now, and I haven't come up with much.

yes I believe they start off by offering 20,000/yr to a few of their top applicants, usually people with no lower than a 3.8 and 20's on all sections. Then if these applicants turn down the scholarships they break them up into 10,000/yr offers and give it to a larger number of applicants who almost met the standards (my friend and i got offered the 10,000 and we had 3.8+ but less than 20 on one or two DAT sections.) if any of those are not accepted, they filter down to the next level of applicants, etc. I am not sure if they are broken down into smaller increments at that point or not. as for the timing, I think the 20,000 offers come at the same time as your acceptance, while the 10,000 offers may come weeks or months later (I got mine like 2 months later). you must maintain a 3.5 gpa in dental school to be able to renew the scholarship each year.

Cool, good stuff. Thanks for the info! 🙂 Wow, 3.5 GPA maintenance required?!? That sounds pretty rough, hahaha...
