Hey everyone, I remember last application cycle a few people posted threads that they got accepted to X school and they got offered $xxx amount in scholarship money.. I know im jumping the gun here cause were all still waiting to hear about interviews and stuff, but I was just curious, do you have to apply for scholarships or do they offer them with acceptances to "sweeten the pot" or do you find out about them after you've been accepted? Anyone know anything about this or how it works? thanks

one person i know got multiple acceptances and multiple scholarships..
these were all offered without any sort of application..

I know that there are plenty of scholarship opportunities available to minorities if you search on sites like fastweb. You can try looking through those. Im not a minority, but while searching for scholarships I came across quite a few, they all have different requirements (gpa, career choice, essay, etc....) I was just referring to school offered scholarships (like attend our school and we'll give you $25k towards tuition kinda deal) most of the other ones (ie, fastweb) are outside scholarships from people who donate money and trust funds etc... hope that helps

from what i hear the scholarship offer comes with your acceptance letter. i.e. we are please to accept you to so and so school and you have received so and so scholarship.

Thanks.. Thats cool to know.. Ofcourse i'll be happy with just a "congrats, you've been accepted" letter (which im sure everyone else here would be too...) lol
