I haven't been able to find too many but then again maybe I'm looking in the wrong places. Anybody know of any scholarships or grants for minorities entering dental/medical/graduate/professional school??????

Im a undergrad senior graduating in May and will be attending Howard School of Dentistry this fall.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.👍

I've been looking too and haven't found many either. I've already come to terms with the fact that loans are inevitable, but I've still been looking for scholarships as well. If I see anything I'll defnitely let you know.

You would think that stuff like this would be easier to find.

hey guys...i found this list, its mixed though with undergrad and grad students, but they have some great opportunities:

and then i was on VCOM's website and they gave a great list of scholarship resources (for mental and dental) as well:

hopefully these will help...😀
but if anyone else has more resources DO SHARE lol

The first one has a lot of scholarships for high school and undergrad but I will look through it. Thank you for your help.

yeah the first is kind of annoying to look through 🙄, but there are a few scholarships...

There are VERY VERY FEW outside scholarships for people going to professional school, minority or not. I remember seeing some on the uncf.org website, but none other than that. Most organizations figure that you don't need a scholarship when you are studying to be a doctor. Many of the scholarships that you hear people getting for professional schools come from within the school, and are handed out by the adcomms if you qualify (usually you can't apply..they just choose you).

Howard willl notify you of any scholarships or grants that you are eligible for. Just be sure to get your FAFSA (and your Howard financial aid form) done and submitted as early as possible. Howard's financial aid offices (medical and dental) are very proactive about getting money for their students if you qualify. Be sure to include your parental info (even if you are not a dependent student) as this increases your chances of getting something. Good luck!
