scholarships anyone?

Anyone who is receiving a scholarship (full) currently in med school or knows anyone who does, can you plse let me know. Also plse let me know if these are restricted to US citizens alone.......

Many schools offer full scholarships based on merit and/or status as 'underrepresented in medicine (URM)'. Can't tell you about specifics except for my school.

About half of the students at Mayo Medical School receive full scholarships. The other half receives half scholarships. Although you can be a resident alien, you must have received your B.S. degree from a U.S. accredited university.

Apparently there are TONS of inclaimed/unused scholarships available....stop by your "local" financial aid dept...and see what they have...or where they can direct you...

really appreciate the input guys...
I was beginning to slump into depression at the thought of how I would finance my med education and how I would keep my grades up for BS.
Now I feel a little happier 🙂

From Vanderbilt's Financial Aid Handout: 16% receive full tuition institutional honor scholorships, 22% qualify for need-based scholarships ranging from $500 to $21000

I have heard Duke offers merit scholarships...maybe in the realm of 10 per year. The need based fin aid is also quite good there.

As far as the NHSC scholarship...there are several threads about it, as well as links...and problems people have had with it.
If you are interested in the program...it would behoove you to search the old threads and read up...
