Hey-
I am starting to apply for scholarships senior year. Yep, that time is rolling around. If past students could list the names of the scholarships that they or someone they know has applied for/won, I would appreciate it.
Also, the names of any good summer camps/internships.
Thanks!

What state are you in?

where as there are many competitive scholarships out there, i would advise that its better in a way to look at local scholarships in your area. There is a much better chance that you will get those even if they are small amounts, a few should get you to a nice amount.

Look at your state and see if there's any state aid. I remember I found out about a $1250 per year for 4 years scholarship from my state (DE) the day before the app was due, and submitted it about 4 hours before it was due. Paid off. State aid can be merit based, need based or a combination of both. In most states it won't pay for your whole tuition, but what's wrong with 5 or 10k just being given to you for free?

For summer camps/internships: I would suggest the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth (cty.jhu.edu). You can only apply after your first year of college, but it's a great experience. There are residential as well as instructional positions.
