Hello
I was wondering what phone carriers are the best at Scholl. I have verizon and I heard it was crummy. Is AT&T good there by any chance?

Sprint is by far the best, with T-Mobile being a good second.

I had Cingular when I first got out here and I didnt get reception ANYWHERE on campus... so a couple months ago I switched to T-Mobile and so far its been pretty good. If I had to choose I would stick with T-Mobile for the coverage and for the price.

Not so sure about Verizon though. But I hear its just as bad as Cingular.

I used Cingular (now At&T) when i was there. I actually had great reception, but my dorm was facing the school (301, actually it faced 201, but you understand), so i dont' know what it's like on the other half of the building.

in the actual school, i had only trouble by the anatomy lab, that really sucked cause i worked down there, but at least i had my own office phone (with free long distance, haha!) so i barely used my cellphone down in the "dungeon". No prob in the Rath, definitely had a hard time in the classrooms.

I'd stick to At&T, especially if you are planning to get an iPhone. They will be adding Exchange/Outlook access by the time school starts. jfyi

With Cingular, I never got reception in the pods (where most of the classes are), mail room area, Computer lab (sucked), the farther 1/2 of the library, barely in Rhodes Auditorium, none at the gym or G-labs, and nada down in the dungenous cadaver lab. Reception was fine in the dorms though (I live on 2nd floor)

But with T-mobile... I get reception in all of those places. Even "parts" of the dungeon! haha

sorry, i know this is about scholl...but i thought it would be silly to start another thread about service in des moines for those that will be attending DMU....
but any advice on which carriers work best in that area??
thanks 🙂
