What do you feel about the school changing toward a 2 + 2 basic science/clinical schedule? It seems very ambitious overall and appears to allow more rotations in the chicago area and 7 externships. One thing that kind of sucks is that you lose the summer vacation after first year...only 2 weeks off between first and second year.

I'm all for it. Plus, 7 externships gives me more opportunities to show my charm and good looks to residency directors.

We had 5-7 before CRIPS when it was in December for my year. 5-7 depending on if you wanted to stay in Chicago, cause we we made to mandatory podiatry rotations to programs even if we didn't want to stay in Chicago.

2+2 is a great idea, but having a summer was great (we went to Africa and then taught Summer Anatomy to the 1st year MD, PA, Path, Ph-D students). Sometimes ppl need a break, but heck, it's better for the school and if your education is better, good. Hopefully tuition will stay in check for you guys.
