Hello, I'd like some feedback on my school list.

State of residence, status
  • .
  • ORM
Ties to other states/regions
  • None
Cumulative/Science GPA
  • .
MCAT Score
  • .
Research Experience
  • .
Clinical Experience
  • .
Physician Shadowing
  • .
Non-Clinical Volunteering
  • .
Other Activities:
  • Had some leadership and teaching positions in my non-clinical volunteering roles
Other Employment History:
  • Worked some other jobs in undergrad, about 400 hours
Additional Notes
  • One major concern is how old much of my clinical volunteering was.

School List:

I've got 40 schools on here right now, but I want to trim it down to like 30.
I'm likely going to remove Commonwealth after advice from another user.

I recently added the state public schools:
Indiana
Ohio State
University of Central Florida
University of Cincinnati
University of Iowa

My MCAT is right below the 25% for these schools except for Indiana. Would it be a mistake applying to these?

Thank you

Seems to like research.
For OOS, they prefer applicants with significant

Yeah, Cincy and Ohio State are a reach in terms of the MCAT.

MCAT (10%/25%/median)

Indiana: 502/507/511 (OOS % = 21%) (States that they prefer OOS who have ties to Indiana) (However, the US territories represented seem pretty random to me, doesn't seem to have regional preference)
Ohio State: 508/513/518 (OOS % =46%)
Cincinnati: 509/513/517 (OOS % =47%)
Central Florida: 511/512/514 (OOS % =32%)
Iowa: 509/513/518 (OOS % =35%) (Considers 'outstanding' non residents

With these numbers, would you say Iowa, Central Florida, or Indiana should be taken off? My MCAT is fine for Indiana, but they state that they want those who have significant ties to Indiana, but I'm not sure how much that holds true. They have a 21% OOS rate.

Ohio State and Cincinnati have high OOS rates, but yes, my MCAT is a little below their 25% OOS scores.

I'm right at 10% for Central Florida.

My MCAT is between 10% and 25% for Iowa, so I'm not sure that is considered 'outstanding'.

Do you think I should apply to any of these 5 schools?
