I am going to apply to 15 schools for the 2005 entering class. Residency is NY State.

GPA: 3.45
BCPM: 3.50
MCAT: I'll update on Tuesday. 😳

same here- i think thats a great list for your stats. Maybe add 1 really reach school for kicks (cornell/yale)? But otherwise, looks great.

Thanks guys, I am going to wait until I get my MCAT score before clicking submit, and I will probably add Pitt as my dream reach school 😍 I think Cornell and Yale are so far out of my league that it would be a waste of money to apply... my NYC reaches are Sinai and Einstein. I think for me, everything is a reach, because I had a lot of problems undergrad. We'll see. Thanks so much for the advice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think it would be more helpful if you also gave your ugrad school, and EC summary. That GPA isn't bad and you could probably apply to higher ranked schools.

Here are more specifics...

I went to a fairly well-known college. We are consistently ranked in the top 7 liberal arts colleges in the country.

I was the President of my class for one year and a member of student gov't throughout my four years. I was a part of several organizations, most notably one involving counseling for victims of violent crimes. I did two years of research + an honors thesis. Since graduating a few years ago, I have worked in research.

I am not really interested in going to the Caribbean. Thanks again for all of the advice!

it's a pretty well rounded list you have. If you want, I think you could aim higher. Why not?

My research post-grad was all clinical, so I conducted studies with patients, worked with physicians, and was in a hospital setting. My undergrad research was basic sciences.

I'm from Upstate and had lots of friends who went to Geneseo back in the day. It is a GREAT school! You'll have lots of fun, I am sure. Good luck!

I am genuinely sorry that if that post came off as rude or unnecessary.

I had a lot of WD's on my transcript and also some ncompletes b/c I was sick a lot. I guess that's why, even if my numbers look good, I don't have much confdence w/regards to getting in. My LOR's might not be too stellar, either, since I am not using my Committee.

I should have written that information BEFORE asking for advice. Leaving it out made the tone of the post much different. I consider each of those schools a reach because I am going to really have a lot of explainin' to do.
