School list - asking for your wisdom please!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
You are not WWAMI so delete U of WA.
Delete UCSD unless you attended undergrad there.
Both AZ schools should be on your list.
You really need at least a dozen OOS private schools that will overlook your first MCAT and have a 10th percentile well below 29. You may as well try all the Jesuits (I hear SLU averages, though).
Do you have a DO letter? You are just in range for Western.

A more realistic list would be:

UCI
UCD
Loma Linda (but read their list of don'ts)
Any DO schools, starting with Touro-CA, both Westerns, TUCOM and PacNW

Being a 2x MCAT taker combined with the low MCAT limits MD schools, I'm afraid.

You should probably focus the majority of your time/money on DO schools. The average DO gpa is 3.4 and MCAT is 26. You are competitive for that.

If you are white, 19% of applicants with your academic stats were accepted MD.

I would apply Rosalind, NYMC, Albany, Loma Linda, whatever Ca you would be good for, and Wright State. Good luck!

@gyngyn, @Goro would it be worthwhile for me to retake MCAT a 3rd time by September if I think I can get 510+ ?

I really want a solid chance at getting in one of the UC schools

A solid chance at a UC school would require an MCAT > 510. The problem is, UC schools may average all MCAT attempts. If you somehow get a 524 on the third retake, your MCAT average will only be a 510, which isn't a solid chance for UCs

This may change if you are URM though

You can remove SUNY Downstate, SUNY Upstate, Wright State, Toledo, USF as these are state public schools that accept very few OOS applicants with your stats. You could add Creighton, Quinnipiac and Western Michigan. Which DO schools are you applying to?

Your previous residency in NY may help but your GPA is below the 10% percentile for all the SUNY's AND you are not a state resident. The GPA-MCAT grid shows your chances for a MD acceptance is 20% so you should also concentrate on your DO application. Consider adding more schools such as:
LECOM-Bradenton
Nova Southeastern
RVU-COM (Colorado and Utah)

@Faha has given you good advice. It will be very difficult to get any traction from the UC's, especially with your stats and as a reapplicant. Make sure to add some oos schools and DO schools Faha recommended

Thanks to all of you for your advice. Kicking myself for not seeking SDN feedback until this year.
