School list for a low mcat applicant. Should I add more?

9 schools:

LUCOM (I'm a Christian so I don't mind)

I wanted to add Marian and LECOM but they require sociology and I have never taken it. I didn't add WVSOM because their OOS tuition is too high. Is this enough? If so, I don't want to add any more because I'm poor. I live in Arkansas btw.

Maybe add KYCOM? You've got a good list. Maybe someone (@user3 ) else could chime in to say if 9-10 schools is enough?

Man I'm really anxious about seeing the 2015 list. Its probably ridiculous. Watch LUCOM still be the lowest with a 27 MCAT. lol

Stats have gone up for sure.

I know there is a lot of hate on LUCOM, but I actually spent a while today reading through the LUCOM thread and I don't know...I might just put it back on the apply list.

Thanks. You said somewhere that PCOM screens out MCAT categories < 8. Is that just for the Pennsylvania campus? They share the same name so maybe they have similar standards?

I know there is a lot of hate on LUCOM, but I actually spent a while today reading through the LUCOM thread and I don't know...I might just put it back on the apply list.

I have an issue with schools that combine religion with science in their curriculum. Not saying that I have a problem with religion or that religion cannot coexist with science, but those two need to stay as far apart as possible in a medical school curriculum.

I completely agree. I'm not religious, so that may be a problem if were to come to attending LUCOM. They are about to open a new DO school here in Texas, Incarnate Word which is also a religious-based institution, so we'll see.
