Help with school list?
Looking for advice on schools to apply to beyond my local state schools and historically black medical schools.
*State/Country of Residence: Maryland
* Ties to other States/Regions: N
* URM? (Y/N): Y (African American Male)
* Year in School: Senior (Graduating this May)
* Undergraduate Major(s)/Minor(s): Biology
* Cumulative GPA: 3.91
* Science GPA: 3.89
* MCAT Score(s): 515
* Research Experience: 300 (Remote Research done during COVID)
* Publications/Abstracts/Posters (include how you were credited e.g. first author, second author, etc.): 1 paper (First Author)
* Clinical Experience (paid or volunteer): Medical Assistant 400 hours (Will continue working as a medical assistant part-time starting next month)
* Physician Shadowing: 20 hours shadowing Internal medicine physician
* Non-Clinical Volunteering: 75 hours Tutoring K-12 students in underserved communities, 30 hours serving Community Food Banks in my local area (by the time I apply this should be closer to 70), 30 hours sewing masks for members in the community which could not afford one
* Other Extracurricular Activities: Held leadership positions on two clubs (1.5 years for each), TA'd biology courses for 1 year
* Other Employment History: Asides from being a Research Assistant/Medical Assistant/Undergraduate Teaching Assistant, no.
* Immediate family members in medicine? (Y/N): N
* Specialty of Interest (if applicable): (Internal Medicine currently but I am sure that will change when I am in medical school)
* Interest in Primary Care (Y/N): Y
* Interest in Rural Health (Y/N): N
* Medical School List: Need help filling in the list beyond what I have currently. Big things for me include some for of financial aid and a diverse student body.
