Hi!

I will be applying to dental school this cycle and need help with my school list. What schools should I take out or add?
DAT: 19AA/19TS/PAT20(No scores below 17)
GPA: Overall 3.70
General dentist shadow: 40 hours
Pediatric dentist shadow: 175 hours
-Lots of volunteering, research experience, leadership, etc.
-Have taken two courses at a community college

Solid list. I just want to add that UIC highly recommends having at least 100 general dent shadowing hours. Good luck this cycle.

"Students often shadow a variety of dentist, including general practitioners. It is recommended that applicants obtain 100 or more hours at the time of application submission." This is what they have listed on their website but I'm confused because they didn't specify how many hours should be done with a general dentist vs. pediatric dentist.

Yes. The general rule of thumb is have at least 100 hours (which is nothing quite honestly). They like seeing your hours with GD compared to specialist hours and I would argue even more so if you have more specialty hours than GD hours.

Hm.. ok thanks! Hopefully this won't be a huge issue because UIC is my top choice :/
