School list check

I wanted to get input on my school lists. I want to add more DO schools. Despite my stats I am praying for a MD (ik my chances are >5%)

Stats

cGPA: 3.36
sGPA: 3.00
MCAT:501 (up from 496)
School: Loyola University Chicago (undergrad alum)
Ethnicity:White, first-generation immigrant
State of Residence: Illinois

Clinical Experience (~4,750 hours total)

Pharmacy Technician:~3,000 hrs during covid
EMT:~1,000 hrs (underserved population, free-care municipal EMS)
Paramedic:~750 hrs. Predictied to add another 3000 in south side chicago underserved communities.

Other Experiences

Shadowing:300 hrs (ICU, pulmonology, internal med, cardiology, radiology)
Research:100 hrs (Burn shock and trauma lab)
Teaching:~200 hrs (Peer mentor in honors program)

Letters of Recommendation

2 strong MDs
1 strong ugrad instructor
1 strong Paramedic LT mentor
1 average LOR from ugrad instructor (need for letter packet from committee)

Welcome to the forums.

If you grew up outside Chicagoland, SIU would be in play. Otherwise, DO is your most likely bet. 501 just won't help you, and many schools average MCAT attempts (assuming your 496 is your first attempt).

What advice have you gotten from your prehealth advisors?

My pre-health advisors said I should focus my expectations on DO programs, and that there's a chance of acceptance there. Regarding MD programs, they said Loyola and RFU might consider looking at my application, but realistically, I would likely be screened out or deferred due to my stats.

MD schools are unrealistic with your stats. You could add these DO schools to your application:
TUNCOM
PCOM (all schools)
UP-KYCOM
WCU-COM
