I need to narrow down to 7 MD school, and bring my DO schools up to 15. If something isn't on the list or shouldn't be, etc. let me know. I'd really appreciate your help, I want the best chance of getting into the best school I can!)

DO schools: (Have 11, need 15, please recommend 4 more schools or tell me which I need to get rid of. Add either best I can reasonably get into.)

Thank you so much!

Ok I hate to go here, because I wish all schools just were equally racially mixed (perfect world I know), but as a white male, what do you bring to the table at Howard, Morehouse, and Meharry?

It's a serious question.

If you don't, are they only on your list because their stat cutoffs may be a bit lower? If it's the latter, take them off your list as I don't feel your chances there are that great...unless of course you have some commitment to their school philosophies you didn't mention.

I grew up in a predominantly black area, my community service was with black children (not on purpose, I wanted to help at an underprivileged school, just turned out that way), and I plan to pay off my debt by working in under-served areas when I become a doctor. I wouldn't say my number one mission in life is to ONLY help the African American community, but I am highly interested in working with the poor in general, as I was poor as a kid.

Not sure if that is enough. Do I send a different personal statement to each school? Because I didn't have enough characters to add the growing up poor thing, so if I don't have any way to communicate my interest and if they don't align with the school, let me know.

Any DO school recommendations? Are branches considered worse? If not, which branches would you recommend? I'd rather not live in California or the middle of nowhere US, but I might make an exception for a nice school in a pleasant area. Any suggestions? Also, nowhere that has tornadoes or natural disasters.

I need to pick four from these potential maybes:

Campbell University (CUSOM) Lillington, North Carolina
Edward Via College Blacksburg, Virginia
PCOM Suwanee, Georgia
Pacific Nortwest Yakima, Washington
Oklahoma State Tulsa, Oklahoma
NOVA Southeastern University Davie, Florida
Midwestern University Downers Grove, Illinois and Glendale, Arizona

Also, do I have any shot at all at:
West Virginia University School of Medicine (Morgantown, West Virginia)
Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine (Huntington, WV)

I'm a PA resident (live with mom) but my dad lives in WV and I visit him a lot. I really like the state but the out of state admitted seems low.

Midwestern in AZ has a history of only accepting really high MCAT scores (which may change this cycle according to some), but I believe you have a decent chance at ATSU-SOMA with your desire to help the underserved. Also because their curriculum is unique you have the opportunity to spend your last three years at one of their CHC sites.

Oklahoma State is a pretty well liked school according to the docs I work with who graduated from there. However, you mentioned wanting to avoid tornadoes, and the entire state is a tornado magnet.

I also would like to add, I may wish to be an ER doctor, is there any particular DO school I should keep in mind? I know some are more into primary care only and EM isn't always considered such. It is my top choice of profession so any inside knowledge would be appreciated!

I told SOMA during my interview that I wanted to do Emergency Med. They push primary care, but it doesn't stop people from going into different residencies.

DO- delete (sorry!) Rowan, OHU-COM- IS pref, UNECOM(regional)IS pref
DO-add Goros (but I disagree on PCOM GA- thought they had regional pref), Pikeville, LMU

I also thought the Georgia one had a preference, is this true (just read this yesterday).
