Need some legit help to alleviate my concerns -- in no way am I trying to humble brag.

Current Stats -

1. oGPA/sGPA - 3.85
2. DAT - 26AA 27TS 23PAT
3. Above Average Leadership Experience
4. Research Experience - 0hrs
5. Shadowing - 25hrs (plan on getting 50-75hrs by application time)

List -

1. Iowa (In-State)
2. Louisville
3. UNC
4. UCSF
5. UoP
6. UCLA - stretch?? <3% acceptance OOS
7. Harvard - will no research experience hinder me?
8. Columbia - again, lack of research experience?
9. Baylor - should I even try at the texas schools?

Any schools you'd recommend I should add? I plan on applying for the HPSP and would really like to go to school somewhere warm.

You need to bump up your shadowing hours to 100+ before you apply. Research isn't a huge deal, especially if you are at an UG school that doesn't really offer research opportunities. It might hurt your chances at Harvard some, but to be blunt, if that is you in your photo, being an URM with those stats will cancel out the lack of research. I'd say you were a shoe-in, as much as one can be anyway, for Iowa, unless you can't string 2 words together and bomb your interview.

Even if you aren't Xzibit, apply where you want after you get up your shadowing hours to 100. Seriously, just do it. It won't take much effort, and it'll seal the deal.

If you have a few hundred bucks extra, go ahead and apply to the Texas school. Might as well!

I'm a part of a "Deferred Admissions" program for the University of Iowa. However, the midwest weather takes its toll on you! 😉 Ready for sunny and 75 in November.

Glimmer, I just read your AMA and would like to say congratulations on completing your first year. You never fail to amaze me. Oh the things I'd do to get into UNC... Give your boy Xzibit a shoutout to the Dean of Admissions, will ya?
