Does anyone have a link to a site that shows the average stats of each of the dental schools? I'm aware that numbers aren't everything but it's certainly a big piece of the pie. Thanks in advance!

That's a great reference, toothdoc. But what in the world is going on at Meharry?!!!! Their averages are listed as 2.79 GPA and 15 for both sections of the DAT. I mean, really, what kind of dentists can they be graduating? I realize there may be some extenuating circumstances where people with those kinds of numbers will make good docs - but to fill an entire class with those types? When even Howard is putting a class together with better numbers, you know you've got trouble. But, I guess if you're looking to be top of your class...

Seriously, is there something really weird going on there?

Well, better sign off and start reading the hate mail from all the Meharry grads. 😱

THANKS ToothDoctor

Good website.

Hey folks,

I took a look at that site, and must say its great that someone compiled all the schools! I just wish it was a lil more updated. It's strange, but some of the gpa's and scores seem a little lower than what I was told when I went and interviewed at schools. I guess since they are 2002 stats that could be it. All in all i think this is a great resource, it definitely helps students who are looking strictly at the numbers! Thanks for putting up the link!!

🙂

I second that motion. Thanks for the link toothdoc.

Although a great website, but I believe that those stats are from the 2001 entering class for the following reasons:

1) For Nova, those posted stats on the web site are exactly what I have for our 2001 entering class. My class (2002 entering class) has higher mean GPA

http://groups.msn.com/NSUCDMCLASSOF2006/novapredentcorner.msnw

2) For Univ. of Minnesota, from what I recall, their 2002 entering class has a mean GPA above a 3.5 according to the school's web site and not a 3.48 as posted on that stats link

3) If it's truly from 2002 entering classes, then why isn't UNLV listed?

Regardless of what year those stats belongs to, it's still a good reference source. The best resource to reference about GPAs and DATs is still the ADEA published Admissions Guide.
