Hello everyone there! I'm an Italian student in dentistry and I'd love to work in the US.
Next year I'll start my last year of school and I'm just wondering if it's really necessary to do all the "steps" that foreign dentists do to get into an USA dental school to graduate and work regularly.
I mean: will my Italian dental degree give me an advantage in any school (also college or private school) or will I have to do the same tests, interviews, recommendations, years of study, graduate, etc that an other average foreign student should do?
And, if the Italian degree value is the same of any kind of foreign degree, would you be so kind to tell me the precise list of things I should do to get into schools like Ann Arbor?
That's what I know but probably it isn't right:
1.do NBDE I (also before having a foreign degree?)
2.get a 90 points TOEFL certificate
3.get 3 recommendation letters (school Dean, school professor and school tutor of choice)
4.do interview at school (preparing interview and, for some schools, also practice in doing cavities or modeling wax or other)
5.get accepted in US dental school
6.do lasts two years of school (and find loans because I don't have that sum)
7.get USA degree
8.do NBDE II (also before having a US degree?)
Thanks very much for your help
