I was just filling out the VCOM application and I noticed they want to know about traffic violations. Do you guys think this would mean speeding ticket??

I am also wondering if any other DO school asked this. I did not think about this being a felony as VCOM does, so I didn't list anything. Let me get your feedback, thanks!

(They said they are going to do a background check, and find out about all traffic violations, so I'm kind of worried that I shouldve listed on my other apps, but not sure if they included traffic violations)

Speeding tickets aren't felonies, unless you double the speed limit (in CT anyway).

Also, does anybody know if this actually affects the committee's decision?! I mean, understandable for someone with like 13 tickets in a short period, but what about like 3?!

You should be honest, and it probably won't affect anything unless you have a ton or something.

OP, you don't need to have put this on your primary app. Just fill it out on the secondary, whenever asked.

I don't know of any other DO schools that ask this question, but then again I didn't apply to all of them. I know of a few MD schools that ask this on their secondaries, though, so it wouldn't surprise me if there are other DO schools that do too.

it surely has to be asking about felonies and misdemeanors, NOT speeding tickets. use common sense here and you'll be fine. so no, definitely don't report speeding tickets.

call the admissions office to make sure.

darn it i got a wreckless driving ticket which is considered a felony lol well actually it was dropped to careless driving i got two of those tickets with 4 points, took a course knocked off 2 and got 2 left. its been almost a year and i will have no points 😀

When a secondary says "list all speeding tickets," you kinda assume it's talking about speeding tickets. Not just felonies.

oh, you got me, brown bear!

in that case, I wouldn't even apply to that anal school!

Yes.

I've encountered these questions from a number of different schools, and no, I don't think they actually care whether or not you have one or ten speeding tickets.

Just think of it as test of your honesty/integrity. Come clean and you should be fine.
