Just curious to know if there are any med schools that are more "favorable" for applicants with a doctorate degree (PhD in immunology). Someone had mentioned that UCLA has a specific "blurb" on their admissions page about doctoral candidates. Thanks.

I've met med students with Ph.D.'s (not just M.D./Ph.D. students) at Hopkins, Penn, and Yale. I'm sure they are everywhere. Also, some schools, like Case Western, have a reputation for favoring non-trads in general. I believe having a Ph.D. can only help you in your application, but the effect may be stronger at research-oriented schools.

What do you all consider to be a non-trad? I used to think it was simply someone that had been out of school before applying but not sure if that is how medical schools see it.
