I just got really confused on this. I called a particular school to ask if they received my official DAT score report. They said no because they haven't received my aadsas application which will go out this friday. Is this true that when you check of schools when you sign up for the DAT that its not official till your aadsas app is mailed? I thought schools could see your DAT scores beforehand?

Scores pipe through AADSAS. Those are the official scores your school receive. A school really has no use for them all alone.

AADSAS receives your DAT scores about 2-3 weeks after you take the DAT. At the same time, the dental schools that you designated also receive the scores. AADSAS will then forward the scores to your dental schools; so basically, dental schools will get two copies of your scores. I'm not sure if schools have a preference for whichever one to utilize but it looks like your school is looking for the score from AADSAS. (Someone please correct me if I'm wrong)

SO basically , it is not worth paying the money for the DAT to be sent to different schools right ?, because they are going to get it from AADSAS anyways. Can you correct me if im wrong please?

Thank you
