Hi everyone,

Here's my predicament: I did really bad in my first year (ton of reasons) but now even though I'm doing well and have done well in later years (now going into my fifth year for the sole purpose of pulling up my marks), that one year brings down my cGPA to a horrific 3.2. Are there any schools that will overlook my bad year, or even see that I've made a progressive improvement in my later years? Or hell, are there allopathic schools that will take me with a 3.2?

Thank you so much.

I would think that with a decent MCAT score, you stillhave a respectable chance. Any adcoms that are interested in you would probably take note of the fact that you did bad the first year, then worked harder the over the other years.

If you can just move it up a small notch, that would be great
Combined with solid ECs and well written letters I think you will be allright. 👍

i wouldn't describe a 3.2 with an upword trend "horrific". It just means you needed stronger points in other areas.

any specific schools or tips?

definitely stay with the upward trend if possible. rock the MCAT (30 or above), get some solid ECs under your belt, and apply to a large range of schools --- EARLY.
