Schools that requires continued interest post interview

For schools like Mayo Clinic or Ichan — where they explicitly say during my interview day, "If we last hear from you in October and it's been February, we will assume you are no longer interested in attending our school." If I do not have anything significant to update them, should I still send the insignificant updates to avoid getting rejected?
