Hi everyone,

I am new here. Nice to meet you all. Here's my problem. I am an average student. 3.5 cumGPA and 3.4 Sci. I am looking at 15 safe schools to apply to. Please help. Thanks a bunch you guys.

Oh I haven't take the DAT yet. But please assume that I can get 19 😍...another question, will dental schools know how many schools I'm applying to?

with that GPA and atleast 19's on DAT... NYU, Tufts, BU, & Nova should be on your list.....

15 safe schools... join the club! You also should add USC, possibly Marquette as well. 3.5 is not average lol... where did you go to school?! 😱

I'm currently attending UT-Austin. I was just lazy during my first 2 years (did not know what I wanted), lol... You think I can get in with those GPA?

A GPA of 3.3 is average. a GPA of 3.5 is above average. If you can get 20+ for your DAT's, you have a chance to get in most of the fairly competitive schools. If you ask me, I don't think you need to apply to 15 schools because your stats are better than that.

My cumGPA is 3.62 sci 3.49 BCP 3.45 (w/o)
(w/) 3.57 / 3.45 / 3.40

DAT ts/aa/pa: 29/25/20

And I applied to 13 Schools...probably too many huh??

Yup...way too many. You can get in most of the schools you listed without any trouble assuming you applied early and have at least average extra-curriculars. As long as you have solid interviews, I don't see why you can't get in schools like UPenn, Columbia or UCLA. I mean, your DAT scores for the academic portions are as high as it's gonna get and your GPA is fairly solid. I say, narrow your choices down right now to less than 7 so you won't have to travel everywhere when the interview season comes.

I don't see a problem with 13 schools. But it's hard to actually research a school w/o going to it, so I don't see why you shouldn't apply to more schools just in case. Those are also very solid stats (your GPA and 25 AA)! I wish I could have your DAT scores....
