So for a few weeks I've been going to the school websites that have status pages and checking to see if anything has changed (nothing ever has). In anyone's opinion, is this worthwhile? I've suspected for a while now that I'm just giving myself something to do other than study and wait for an email telling me the good/bad news.

On another note, I have two interviews next week and am pretty sure I'm starting to come down with strep throat. I read today that there is a 3-5 day incubation period, so hopefully these interviewers submit their reports immediately after the interview before they realize later in the week that I incapacitated them.

i would like to bump this- same question but for this year's cycle please.

I know Drexel does not email you when you get an II, you have to check your status.

I think I have also seen a few people see an II on their U of Illinois status page before they got the official email.

i think another recent thread talked about this, but the schools i know of that don't email about interviews are duke, case western, and uci

fyi Drexel emailed me for ii

From what I've heard it's not that Case and the UCs don't email you about your status updates, it's that their emails lag a bit behind the status update so you might be able to catch it early if you're checking your status.

I usually just check my status at all of the schools I applied to twice a day - once in the morning and once in the afternoon when I assume the schools are closed  I do this because I got an interview from USC but didn't get to schedule it for 2 hours when I finally got home and like...half of the days disappeared in those 2 hours 🙁 But that might just be the case for schools that send out interviews in huge batches.

I think most schools will eventually also Email you, but the ones where an interview invite is posted first online that I've seen are: UC Irvine, Jefferson, Drexel, and Duke. Also, GW posts about being on hold only via status update on their website, and UVM I think small pools only via status update (can someone confirm about UVM?)

Found out i got an interview at iowa by checking my status. No email has been sent, at least not yet

Edit. Email sent later in the morning.

It's also a good idea to log into the websites once a month to catch the unannounced rejections. I forgot to do this, and then when January rolled around I logged in and I was quite surprised to find that I had already been rejected from several medical schools. Their loss!

Pitt, found out I was accepted after someone posted in the school specific thread that there were status updates.
