I am going to be applying to 20+ schools this cycle. One of the things i enjoyed during undergrad was the diversity of the student body. This opened me up to many different cultures and allowed me to understand people in different ways. My state medical school accepts many URM's because of this. I am wondering which medical schools usually have the most URMs accepted to their class. Although this is not the deciding factor of whether I will attend a school or not I would still like to have this info. I did not find much about the class population of URMs on the MSAR. Which schools like having these types of students in their class?

Would just like to note that I am not a URM but I would be interested in attending a school with students who might have been educationally or economically disadvantaged or even URM status. I think it helps you grow as an individual. Any input would be nice.

Top schools. I'm not kidding. If anything, they have more money to attract disadvantaged applicants.
Seconded. Look at Stanford's student body, even as far back as 10+ years ago. Crazy diverse.

Really cool. Just checked Stanford out and it is true. Do you think those students have an easier time being accepted over traditional applicants?

Oh, this is a very sensitive topic 🙂
In general, disadvantaged applicants *may* get in with lower stats (though they may also have stats as high as those of "traditional" applicants), but considering the place they started at, they must have made at least as much effort as "traditional" applicants to get to where they are.
