hi all,

so it turns out that after this semester i have a BCP gpa of about a 2.75 (sad, i know). I'm a junior, and i'm looking to take a slew of science classes to get my BCP gpa up. If i can get it up to/ a little above a 3.0 by the end of the summer, do you think it is worth applying to dental school for the 2011 cycle? (given that my overall gpa is around a 3.4 and i do average/above average on my DAT)? Thanks!

cheers.

How many science courses have you already taken? If you take 4 or 5 science courses and make A's in them, you could probably get it to a 3.0, 3.1. People apply all the time with lower GPA's and still get in*. Just study hard for the TS on the DAT and do well.

*Edit: I have seen people get in with lower GPA's. For me to say it happens all the time, is an assumption.

Keep in mind that GPA isn't everything. the ad-coms look at your TOTAL package. If you have a low GPA you will need to make up for this in other areas (DAT, personal statement, experience...)
