BCP calculation appears on your AADSAS application. It's pretty important because schools want to know that you're capable of performing well in science courses. But if your BCP is low, you can offset the stat by improving your grades with upper year science courses, which would be reflected in sGPA. So, I guess BCP is important, but should not discourage students from applying even if they did not do well during their freshmen year as long as their science grades improved over the years.
