So one of the schools I'm applying to says it has a minimum science GPA of 2.85

Does this mean the total science GPA, BCP GPA, or both?

Science GPA is for classes that count as sciences. AKA math, bio, chem, physics.

Directly from ADA website:

"Science GPA: All undergraduate, graduate, and cumulative courses identified on your transcript as Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Math and Other Science is used in computing this GPA."

"BCP GPA: All undergraduate, graduate, and cumulative courses identified on your transcript as Biology, Chemistry and Physics are used in computing this GPA."

If it has a minimum sGPA of 2.85, then in theory it should be counting classes under the sGPA definition above.

Gotcha that makes sense. So my science GPA is higher than 2.85 but my BCP is a bit lower than 2.85. By their standards I should still be looked at right?

TBH, I don't think anyone on SDN could tell you that the admission committee will look at it but in theory, yes. If this is in reference to Howard, I've seem them accept people with low stats and high stats. Who knows how they do it.

Hahaha pretty much lower than that. I live somewhat close to it, so I've heard all sorts of stories. The school does have a preference for URM but accepts many other races like white/Asian as well. I think they put a lot of emphasis to your goals and passion rather than the kind of stats you have. But again, who knows how they select their candidates.
