If you developed a strong relationship with this PI and they are able to speak very highly of you, their field of research truly does not matter. Make sure they can write a strong letter in support of your candidacy.

Thank you! Yes, I was in their lab for two years and also a paid research position in the summers. I have also take multiple of their courses and they were the advisor of a club I was president of for multiple years. I have a great relationship with them and i’m positive their LOR will be very strong!
